I am sitting for the CPA exam in the state of Alabama. Alabama requires 150 hours plus the one year of experience under a licensed CPA to get your certification activated.

Do any states have more demanding requirements than this? Is there any state that I would have problems wiht reciprocity in?

Just wondering because I would like to work for a Big 4 and location is not important… unless of course I can’t get reciprocity/lead engagements one day.

    10/13/13 - FAR *PASSED* 76
    12/01/13 - AUD *PASSED* 84
    01/09/14 - BEC *PASSED* 84
    02/27/14 - REG *PASSED* 81

@UCMCPA…if you are already licensed in TN when you make the switch to Texas than you should only have to do the CPE…I'll double check with my co-worker, but I'm pretty sure that's all she had to do. The only thing that might be different in your case is if she was grandfathered in (I think she had her CPA for a few years before moving states).

@auslaf…I do agree that the TSBPA gives a different response every time you call. The application process just to be able to sit for the exam was a nightmare for me coming from another state.

    REG - 86
    FAR - 80
    BEC - 79
    AUD - 92...I'm done woohoo!

    Licensed CPA since Feb. 2014
