I am not 100% sure yet if I have passed all four sections but I am moving forward with confidence that I have. I have ordered and will be taking the AICPA ethics exam shortly. My question is, how long does it take after receiving your passing grade to receive a letter from the MD Board of Accountancy and how long after sending them all the remaining info (ethics grade, work experience form) does it take to receive your certificate?

Check out the work experience form for your answer. It does not seem to say anything about the endorser NEEDING to be your Supervisor. I found this, “The work must be verified and endorsed by a licensed certified public accountant.” in the instructions of the letter.

Have any recently licensed Maryland CPAs received a wall certificate in the mail? I haven't seen anything and it's been 2 months..

6/11/14 – I received my certificate about 2 1/2 months from when I was licensed.

I can't remember the exact time frame but I believe a few weeks. Call the board and I'm sure they can tell you.

Didn't want to clog Topsya's PwC post with another Maryland question so I'll ask it here:

I just accepted my Big 4 offer so now my anxiety switches to having my education approved by the MDBOA. As I mentioned, I applied on Wednesday. I took all my college courses between two University System of Maryland schools and everything more or less matches up to the Course Titles listed on the website.

My question relates to how they notify you that you are approved and then how quickly would you be able to schedule an exam section? Since I just accepted the B4 offer, I want to utilize the free Becker as quick as possible so I can bang out a section before my start date.

@juuustin they should send you an email. Or you can always call them and ask about the status of your application.

As soon as you are approved,you can go ahead and apply for NTS. That will take a day or two. Right after that is done – you can schedule your test.

… on a side note – what office are you planning to be working for? (what city at least)
