MA Licensing – path to 30 undergrad accounting credits

    Hi guys,

I’m a few accounting credits short of the 30 accounting credits requirement for MA, and I fear some of the conventional methods mentioned on this forum don’t work:

    1. MA does not accept associate degree/junior college credits unless they are transferred to 4-year degree program (I’ve already graduated), so Foothill College or Santa Monica College is not an option.

    2. MA also do not accept correspondence courses, so LSU Continuing Education is out of the window.

    3. I tried finding something from the UNA PAPP course listing, but it seems every course listed is in some form a duplicate of my undergraduate courses.

Can anyone think of another way to get those extra accounting credits for MA? Any input is appreciated!

Can't you just take additional classes wherever you got your degree? Otherwise Snhu isn't the cheapest option but will be accepted.

I went through Northeastern College of Professional studies-they offer accounting courses. I ended up getting an undergrad accounting certificate because I was a finance major but I am sure you could take random classes to fulfill the requirement..It wasn't cheap though.

I'm super confused. I called MA Board and they said community college credits are okay only if you transferred into a 4 year college, which I thought was the old rule. But http://www.cpatrack.com/becoming_a_cpa/certification_licensure says community college credits are accepted. Has anyone received their license with 150 credits of undergrad degree with community college credits?

Wait I'm confused why wouldn't LSU continuing education classes work? I have 24 undergrad accounting classes from my bachelor's and am getting the remaining of my hours from LSU and Umass Lowell continuing education. LSU is regionally accredited.

Have you looked into MA state schools to enroll as a non degree seeking student?
