Lifetime Learning Credit

    Hello,

I am planning to enroll into some accounting courses offered by the University of North Alabama (UNA) Professional Accounting Prep program. I am wondering if these courses are eligible for the lifetime learning credit. I know that CPA review courses are usually not allowed for the credit but these courses are provided by an accredited university. I would really appreciate if someone could shed some light on this.

    Thanks

Yes, they qualify. Tuition, fees, books. I think even materials count as well.

Is this a CPA Exam prep course or are you just taking normal accounting classes?

These courses are offered by the University of North Alabama but the courses materials are from the Wiley CPAExcel. They are recognized by the State Boards of Accountancy toward the 150 hour requirement. Each course is $475 and its the cheapest I can find online.

If they are accounting classes that anyone could take – CPA track or not – I'd say they qualify.
