Just received a letter that says I am short credits to the 36 Accounting Credits required. They didn’t have my MBA transcripts so I sent them along. Should I just take the class, or wait til they get back to me, or go to another state? Do my exams expire is there a time limit? Applied to State of PA

Oh no! I have no idea, but I hope it gets worked out quickly in your favor. I can't believe they didn't say anything when you submitted to sit for the exams.

Do you have any accounting courses with your MBA? If not, you should probably apply to take the additional accounting credits you need. If you live in PA you should really try to get your license there. The expiration varies by state, but the shortest I have heard is 3 years from your last pass, I think.

I don't know how PA works, but none of my MBA courses counted in FL. I had the same as you–2 finance and 2 accounting. Finance doesn't count at all and the 2 accounting courses I took were considered entry level, not upper level because they repeated a lot of the info in Financial and Managerial accounting from a bachelor's degree path, which are lower level courses. I had to go back to school and take the full 36 upper level accounting course work. I still have 4 classes left after passing the exam. I signed up with UCLA Extension online and am taking International Accounting and Partnership tax in April. Yuck yuck yuck, but you do what you have to do. Good luck!

thanks Mamabear, (I think) I consider myself lucky if I am short 4 credits (if they don't take my MBA Acctg courses), worst case I will take Individual Tax and an audit class, I will followup with them next week fingers crossed they take everything I have already done… (for some reason I doubt it…. )
