I just got off the phone with the state board and they pointed me to the CPE portion of their site for the ethics requirement. It looks like all that says is you need 4 hours of ethics CPE every three years. I also talked to them about the experience requirement and the application for my license so I made it clear that I was looking for the ethics requirement to be licensed not just to keep a license. Is the ethics section of the link below where I need to go or do I need something else?

I don't see an ethics exam listed on the requirements for obtaining a license and I called the state board and was told by the person I talked to that an ethics exam wasn't required. I could have sworn that I saw some Louisiana CPAs here say that you did need the ethics exam. Can anyone shed so light on this for me because I'm pretty confused.

    • Satisfy the one year experience requirement as verified by a licensed CPA in a position to know *

    • Submit the application form required by the Board

    • Pay the certificate application fee of $100

    • Execute an oath prescribed by the Board

    * Review the FAQ or contact our office for additional information on the work experience required to become licensed.
