I am a Washington State candidate. In December I passed the final exam. Last week I sent the application package with all required documents.

How long will it take to be registered as a CPA and receive my wall certificate? Just a ballpart figure. Two weeks? One month? Two months? Three months?n

Can someone please let me know long this process takes in WA State? I've completed the exams (including ethics exam) and have had my experience verified by a CPA. I plan to mail in my application at the end of the week. Just wondering how long it takes before I will get my license.n

to update on my earlier post, after i received the licensure packet (not through florida) i submitted it along with the information i had. It then took 3 weeks for my score to finally post on florida's website and my license was issued the next day. Now, the only thing i can't find is how to get my wall certificate from Florida. No information provided from them whatsoever.n

Everything in LA seems to be a 3 week cycle. 3 weeks from the end of the window to get grades (Nasba state), 3 weeks from the time I sent off the applocation until I heard back that it was approved, 3 weeks to get the certificate that I received today. Now I can finally take a breath.n

I'm in NC, just mailed my license application (10/14/10), I'll update this post when I hear back from the board and receive my certificate.

Any other NC applicants out there that can share how long the process took, it said on the auto reply after they received my packet that it could take a minimum of 60 days.n

NcEric41, do you have an update? I am having to jump through some hoops as far as licensing on some things that I did not think to be particularly relevant per the guidelines they have spelled out.n

I am in Idaho and took the last exam Nov 16, 09. I received my scores on Dec 21, 09 and ordered the required AICPA ethics exam which took 2 weeks to arrive. As soon as I had the ethics exam finished I sent my application to the state board. I received my letter and license on Jan 25, 10 and will get the wall certificate after the state board meets in April.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Texas to complete the certification process (not necessarily the printed certificate) after you turn in all the required documents (application, work experience, ethics, etc.)?

Meanwhile, in Florida, they can't even be bothered to send the application packet. Count yourselves lucky, your boards sound relatively quick and efficient.

It's not just FL. I took REG on 10/16 and passed it. That's all 4 for me, but I've not gotten ANYTHING. No congrats. No info on the ethics exam, nada.

Has anyone been able to somehow speed up the Florida FL process?

All, I would not wait to get anything from NASBA or your state board. You need to search your state board and determine what is necessary to get your license. I am from Indiana and Indiana doesn't send anything either. However, I received my last score on 2/26/10 and sent in my application and verification from on 3/9/10 and had my license on 3/19/10. However, Indiana is lame in that they don't send you anything when your license is issued except an email congratulating you and your license number. No card, no certificate, nothing, NADA. If you want anything you have to pay for a pocket card or certificate that looks like one of those that is posted in a barber shop. If you want a “pretty” certificate you can order one through a company but it is not considered official and it cost big bucks from $75 – $200 depending on size, model and frame. I have read in the past that Jeff said don't wait on NASBA or your state board if you can help it. Good Luck to everyone.

Florida is terrible about information. I called and there is no licensure package online. you have to wait for Florida to send it to you. I can't find any information on if there is a way to speed up the process and when i called the State department and the lady didn't even know what she was talking about. Can anyone else from Florida provide insight. I took my last section on Feb 28th and received the score on March 26th, now what?

I am in FL. I got my last passing score online mid November and did not receive my licensing packet untill mid February. If you call the number listed on the website, you will reach a call center that takes calls for a whole bunch of departments (not just accounting). If you want the direct phone number to FL board, I can give that to you. Sometimes it is hard to get the call center to transfer you to the board even when the call center rep. has no idea what they are talking about. The so called “packet” that you will get is 3 pages. Page on is a letter, page two is a form for you to send back, and page three is a work experience certification form that is available on the website. If you want a copy of the form that you will have to send back, I can give that to you. Once I mailed my form back, I had my license number exactly one month after they received my form. PM me if you want the direct number or a copy of the form.

PS: I do not know what would hapen if you were to fill out the form and mail it in before they mail out your packet.

Florida – That has to be the worst process. Sorry for your pain as if passing the exam wasn't torture enough. To have to wait for 2-3 months for the state to send your application packet is beyond belief.
