How does reciprocity work?

There seem to be a lot of questions on this forum about cross state requirements for folks who move, or take the exams in one state and then practice in another state, or even those who transfer licences.

Is there an encompassing guidance on this site regarding this or can anyone provide answers to such various scenarios?

    Thanks!

Not that I know of. Reciprocity is determined by each state board. Some states are fully reciprocal with specific other states. Some require additional CPE to transfer in. Others require an ethics exam or a competency exam. The only way to know is to contact the board of the state you are transferring into, or look at their website. Most of the websites are linked on the NASBA site.

    ETH - 98 - 01/2013

Yep I will definitely do that research. I was just wondering, through experience, if anyone has learned whether transferring a license or transferring exam results is easier. I should have the educational requirements met for any state by this point.
