I am working to get my license in Texas and do not work in public accounting. I work as the controller of a small oil & gas company and there are no CPAs employed here. My boss, the CFO, is located in Canada, so he can’t fulfill the supervision requirement.
In Texas we must get 1 year of experience working under a CPA. If you work in industry, and your company does not employ a CPA, they can engage a CPA firm to provide supervision.
Has anyone else ever had to deal with this and have any advice?
