    Hi All,

I’m thrilled, like many others today, to finally be done with this exam. I just wanted some clarification on the process post-exam. I live in IL and unfortunately the licensing website isn’t as clear as I would like. I passed the ethics exam.

It seems that I now need to wait a few weeks to get my certificate in an email? Then after I received the certificate, I need to apply for licensure? I wanted to get a head start on applying for the license, but can’t find any application to get me started. Am I moving way too early at this point? I want to get my employer to sign off on the 1 year work experience, but have no luck finding a form.

IL guys who applied for the license on 9/8, I also applied on 9/8 and just saw my license on the IDPFR website. I was not sent an email (I thought I would get an email). When checking my application status just now, I did not see anything. Then I clicked on “My Licenses” and there it was. Congrats to everyone, thanks for your help and good luck with your careers.

I am joining you guys!!! I am done!

ILBOE has emailed me a few days after I took my ethics so I know they received it, but with regards to my certificate? How long does it usually take? and do I wait until October 1st before I apply for a license?

    Thank you guys!

Congrats!! Once you get an emailed certificate from IBOE, you will need to wait ~2-3 weeks for IDFPR to get your scores from IBOE (I think they send them at the end of the month electronically). When they receive your scores, IDFPR will email you, then you apply (including form VA-PAE), wait another 1-2 weeks for IDFPR to approve application and then you are licensed. My advice is to setup your account with your SSN with IDFPR so that you can receive the email from IDFPR when they receive your scores. Also, once you get your IBOE certificate, you can complete the VA-PAE and have your employer complete their section – You upload the completed VA-PAE pdf in the IDFPR online application. Good luck!

Quick note, to get the certificate faster, call the IBOE office.

Thank you so much @oisbuddy for the advice. I already have the form ready even before the score release lol.. I was really hopeful I will although I was really nervous and unsure. I also have told the president of the company that I would need the employment verification. But my question is… can I have her sign the form now even if I don't have the certificate yet or just wait for the certificate or do I wait for IDFPR?

    Thanks again.

I would suggest to wait. Again, if you call the IBOE, they email the certificate quicker. Btw, make sure the ethics score is showing on you IBOE account online. If it isn't, definitely call the IBOE.
