Here is my situation: I recently passed my final section of the exam in Wisconsin. However, my fiancé just accepted a job in Florida and we are moving there in a couple months. Does anybody Have more information on how the Florida licensing process works? Do I need to pass the exam in Florida to be licensed there, or would I be better off getting my license in Wisconsin before I move? Both state board websites were not clear on this. Thanks!!

Not sure about these 2 states but if you'd move to CA, you'd have to meet the requirements for CA license so it might be the same case in FL, which means it doesn't make sense to get your license in WI and then pay more fees in FL. But to make sure you should just call FL board of accountancy. I'm sure they wi be able to help you.

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

Florida has an extra year (5th) of college credit requirements. It also has a “One year of work under a licensed CPA” requirement. So if you get your license in Wisconsin, you CANNOT call yourself a CPA in Florida (unless it specifically states “Licensed CPA – Wisconsin”) until you have fulfilled their specific requirements.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

@Gatorbates the work experience does NOT need to be supervised by a CPA, it needs to be verified by a CPA. The rule was changed in 2012. See link below.

Does my work experience need to be supervised by a CPA?

No. A CPA who is licensed by a state or territory of the United States must verify you have one year of work experience to include any of the following: provide service or advice involving the use of accounting, attest, compilation, management advisory, financial advisory, tax or consulting.
