I don’t work in public accounting, but I do work for an accounting firm under a CPA in Colorado. The regulations in Colorado are pretty particular, yet vague at the same time, about the work experience that qualifies. Some stuff I do is “clerical” but most is not. We do accounting and advisory for non-public companies. When applying, how picky are they about work experience as long as a CPA is signing off on it?
Also, I’ve read about people who sit in one state and then apply in a completely different state that they don’t even live in. If anyone has done that in Colorado, could you explain how this works? The process seems confusing.
