    Hello..Educational requirement: It states minimum of bachelors degree and 150 hours. I have Masters and post- bacc. I am at 149 hours:-))) But going through FAQ list on AICPA.org, I got the understanding that if you have Masters you don’t have to worry about 150 hour rule. Is that right? I am in Oregon, however I assume that 150 hour rule is the same in all of the states that require a minimum of bachelors and 150 hours. Help, please…

    I never saw that rule. Oregon is listed as one that has to have 150 to be licensed regardless if it was a bachelors and an additional 30 hours from something like a masters or 2nd bachelors degree.

    How to Meet the 150-Hour Requirement

    Many colleges and universities offer bachelor's and master's degree programs in accounting. To obtain 150 semester hours of education, students do not necessarily have to get a master's degree. They can meet the requirement at the undergraduate level or get a bachelor's degree and take some courses at the graduate level. Students can also choose any of the following:

    Combine an undergraduate accounting degree with a master's degree at the same school or at a different one;

    Combine an undergraduate degree in some other discipline with a master's in accounting or an MBA with a concentration in accounting;

    Enroll in an integrated five-year professional accounting school or program leading to a master's degree in accounting.

    Not familiar with Oregon but usually the 150 hr requirement is firm, meaning you're going to need to find another credit somehow.

    You can always take a one credit hour class in something you enjoy, if it turns out you do need the 150 hours. If you want to skydive, now's the time.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91
    AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
    BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

    If you only need one credit then find a super easy class and challenge it. You won't have to pay the full tuition price and you can be done with it in a matter of weeks rather than months!

    You could even take a CPR class or something at a community college that is on a Saturday from 9-5, as long as you pass, you get the credit. My brother did that and got certified! It was a win win
