Hi

I need another 20 credits to register with the NY board, but I’m so planning to do that after I pass all 4 parts of the CPA.

My question is… If it takes me like a year to complete the 20 credits, will my CPA credits ever expire?

Also, any suggestions where to get education credits that are quick and painless, and the cheapest?

No, but you won't be licensed until you met all the necessary requirements. Once you pass all sections you are done. Some states will not allow you to sit until you get the required education. This is a long exam, so plan to get the credits as soon as possible. You might not want to see another book for a while after taking on studying. Get it out of the way, 20 hrs is about 1 full time semester, or 11/2 semester it will be a press but it will be done.

I am eligible to sit, just worried whether CPA credits expire if I have to wait to get licensed.

I sure hope not because I'm still trying to find the appropriate work experience. I read somewhere than after five years they require you do cpe but I don't know if there is any expiration period. I am pretty sure that anything under 3 years is a safe bet though.

I believe there is another post regarding expiring credits. I think it would be wise to look into your individual state board and see. I believe most states have so many years to apply and become licensed.
