    Hi guys,

I just finished all the parts and am ready to get licensed. The thing is I was registered to take the exams in NJ, and I’m about to move to FL. Can I practice as a CPA in FL who is licensed in NJ?

    Thank you!

I was looking at the same thing, as I am currently testing in WA, but may be moving to FL in the next few years.. I found this article, not sure if it helps or not..

CPA2018, since you are moving to FL, you can transfer your scores to Florida and just get licensed there. If it's a permanent move, that's what I would do. Unless, you plan on moving back to NJ and want to keep that option open.

    Thanks @Nikki374
The thing is that the move to FL is only temporary (less than 5 years), so I will eventually move back to NJ.
I've learned from my other CPA friends that if you work in private, nobody cares which state you are licensed in. Public firms are a different story though. Some firms are flexible while others aren't.

General rule of thumb is that if you are doing public work, yes, you need reciprocity.
My buddies at my old firm based in CO got in trouble (had to pay fines and incident of non-compliance was added to their records) for not getting their reciprocity even though they didn't present themselves as CPAs, i.e. no CPA designation in their biz cards, email signature, etc.
Just call/email Florida's Board of Accountancy or whatever they call it over there and ask what you need to do. I'd recommend emailing if possible, so you have their response written down.
