I passed all 4 parts and was registered in NH to sit for the exam. I don’t reside in NH or work in NH. I don’t know if I can get a license there. Anyone have any idea? The only reason I register to take the exams there was because I am 15 credit shy to the 150 credit requirement in my current state. If NH doesn’t work out. Is there any other state that doesn’t have the 150 credit requirement and residency requirement? Thanks! I really hope I don’t need the get the extra 15 credits!

Most CPAs will not take the risk to endorse your experience if you havent worked directly under them or in the same firm.

I copied the faq below from Michigan CPA Board, check with your state board to see if they have the same response.

QUESTION: I noticed the law requires a CPA to verify my experience. Does that mean I

have to be directly supervised by a CPA?

ANSWER: No, a Certified Public Accountant must be able to “verify” that you did in fact

complete 2,000 hours in one or more of the 19 areas of qualifying experience. This means

that you do not need to work directly under a CPA. By signing the legal document verifying

your experience, the CPA is making a legal statement and is subject to penalty under the

law should their verification be fraudulent.
