The law in Indiana states “An applicant’s experience in a particular position meets the requirements in IC 25-2.1-3-10 if the work is verified by the holder of an active certificate issued by the board or issued by another state so long as the certificate allows the holder to perform similar acts to those allowed to be performed by certificate holders in Indiana who…”
Does anyone know if this might include having your experience verified by a CPA holder licensed in Canada. I know the license is completely different than the US license (acronym means something different, different requirements/governing entity), but it does allow “the holder to perform similar acts to those allowed to be performed by certificate holders in Indiana”.
I emailed the Indiana Board and their response was pretty useless. Basically just said here’s a copy of the law (which I already had), that the state Attorney General says they can not give advisory opinions, if you have any questions/concerns contact a lawyer.
