So how long did it take others in Colorado to receive their license from initial application? I submitted my application on December 16 and am still waiting. I did receive an email today so that my application had been approved and that it was being prepared for transmission to the Board. Hopefully soon, but it seems like it’s taking much longer than anticipated

Sorry to hear that. Not sure when ethics expires but your course is still valid for a year so maybe you can just take a second test without paying if it does expire. Hopefully you don't have too much school left

I haven't gotten anything else from NASBA either…just a congratulatory letter in the mail from COCPA.

Does anyone know when we are allowed to use the CPA designation after our name? I am working on my resume but don't want to send it out before everything is official. I am showing on the DORA website, but I have not received an e-mail from NASBA or COCPA.

They told me on the phone that once you're on DORA you can call yourself a cpa. I am on dora and on cpaverify.org but have not received any emails since the weekend before last. Anyone know anything about this mandatory ethics we have to complete soon?

I just got the email from NASBA, nothing in it that we didn't already know. Just has info on how to look up and print your license, CPE info, etc. I'm pretty sure it's 6 months to complete the CR&R…COCPA has a self study course for ~$75. I looked around and couldn't find a free one.

Also, if you are like me already paid for COCPA dues, the letter they send out says they will just tack on an extra year of membership so you get your free year.

Got my email too! 🙂 Still offical and so crazy/ exciting. If anyone finds a deal on the CR&R let me know. At least it looks like it will count as 2 credits of the 2 ethics in the CPE we need. Yay for the small things!

    An excerpt from the email:

“As part of the improvements being made to the Colorado State Board’s licensing database, licensees will now have the ability to print their own licenses through the Online Services Account on the Division’s homepage http://www.dora.colorado.gov/dpo.”

Has anyone figured out where exactly to print your license? Or do they just mean you can print your “active” status from DORA? I was expecting something that looks like a certificate.

Yes, knewman, I'm still not over it, either. We weren't CPAs when we first posted in this thread! I have yet to write my name comma CPA.

I found the certificate printing, but I guess it's just the wallet cards, not a full-size certificate.
