Does anyone know if the managerial accounting class counts towards the 24 hour accounting requirments for the state of Indiana, even though it falls under the MBA 6xx on the offical transcripts? Also, is it possible for the CLEP exam to count towards the requirement if the school issues it on the official transcript, i.e. Acct 101 (CLEP)? I am finishing up my MBA and am debating on taking the 6 additional accounting classes in order to be able to sit for the CPA. (Hoping to become a Special Agent with the FBI or IRS in the future =).

The CLEP exams should count if they're shown on the college transcript, but would definitely count as entry-level (1xx or 2xx), so make sure that the accounting hours requirement isn't upper-level accounting hours.

Edited to add: The CLEP *won't* count if it is considered a duplicate of something you took previously. I'm assuming that at some point you took an Intro Accounting course – if so, this would probably be a duplicate and not be counted. Your college can probably advise you on what course code they'd transfer it in as and if it would be a duplicate. However, if you never took an Intro Accounting course, then this would c ount.
