CBA processing time?

    Hi all!

Just wondering if any of you know the processing time frame for CBA (California)?

I’m a repeat applicant. I mailed my application three weeks ago, but I keep checking my bank account and the Board still hasn’t cashed my check.

When I log in my exam application account it says “Your application payment has been received by the Board. You have now completed Step 4 in the CPA Exam application process. Upon application approval you will receive notification from the Board to select exam sections.”

The upcoming 2017 changes is really getting me motivated to study so I really want to schedule my exam! I’ve been studying for BEC and hoping to sit in this upcoming quarter.

    Thanks!

I'm in the same position you are in. Just sent my repeat ATT via mail to the CBA. I hope they can process it in less than 2 weeks! However, they are not very efficient. Goodluck!

When I re-applied in March, it took about 3 weeks to receive NTS. The real challenge was to find a seat at Prometric. There were not many seats available in May where I lived. End of the quarter seems always crowded. Hope you find some.

Well, I sent application Aug24th and they received my check Aug31st. Just yesterday they cashed it. Hope they send me next step this week so I can schedule the retake (for BEC too!). I thought that for retakes they would take less time than initial application, not the case.

    From CAli too-

I had to repeat an application because I didn't pay for them all at once and I applied 6/17 got approval 7/08 (I believe they cashed it a week before but for some reason when I went back to look at my bank account it said it happened on the same day, so you might want to just check every day JIC.

Nasba was actually really quick, the day after I paid I got my NTS 7-09.

Remember thee are 10 extra days (for close of Window) for Dec and March to be able to schedule exam too at least!

I'm also from CA and the Board received my payment on 9/16. I have yet to receive my NTS as well and when I emailed them, they informed me that apparently it takes 2-4 weeks to process for repeat applicants. I'm hoping to schedule my exam (FAR) for the end of October.

Has anyone ever gotten their NTS earlier than 2 weeks? Also, what do you guys think are my chances for getting a seat for the end of October? :/

CBA received my check and re-application on 8/30/16 and sent me my approval yesterday Sept. 21. I was told they have alot of applications. Q4 2016 weekend days are filled in my area. It looks as if I will have to take off work and schedule a week day exam.

Same situation here… repeat application received 9/8 but check hasn't been cashed… it's going to take 3 weeks at least.

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8

    Thank you all for replying!

I received my approval yesterday! It also took three weeks from when they received my application. They cashed my check the same day they sent my approval. I selected the parts I want to take yesterday and now my status reads:

The California Board of Accountancy has transmitted your ATT to NASBA. The Board should receive confirmation of this transmission within 48 hours of the transmission date.

There are no available Saturdays near my area either. So I will need to make arrangements to do it on a weekday. I just want to set a date already because I'm the type who studies better when there's a deadline haha!

I'll try to keep updating here so we can all get a feel of the time frame.
    8/25 I mailed application
    8/30 CBA received application payment
9/21 CBA approved application and cashed my check
    9/21 I selected exam parts

    Good luck everyone!

    Same situation as everyone here.

    Mailed app: Sept 9
    Received by Board: Sept 13
    Test Selection: Waiting

This is a big difference compared to when I applied back in December and February, in which it took about 1 – 1.5 weeks from the mailing date to get the NTS. For anyone worried about seats not being available, typically closer to the test dates, people reschedule, so there should be some space, just need to check somewhat frequently.

    REG - 2/19/16 - 77!
    BEC - 4/16/16 - 79!!
    AUD - 6/04/16 - 84!!!
    FAR - 8/31/16

Just to update this, I was able to select my test just now, so it took exactly two weeks from when the board website said my application was received.

    Mailed app: Sept 9
    Received by Board: Sept 13
    Test Selection: Sept 27

    REG - 2/19/16 - 77!
    BEC - 4/16/16 - 79!!
    AUD - 6/04/16 - 84!!!
    FAR - 8/31/16
