Hi everyone. As you can tell from my screen name, I live in Wisconsin! I took the FAR exam (my first section) on 7/10 and then took AUD on 8/14. I plan to take REG next in October and BEC in November. I have read that Wisconsin is slow to release scores, but I’m confused about that. Does Wisconsin wait until all of the scores are in for Wave 1 and then release all of the Wave 1 scores together, or does it wait until all of the scores are in for Waves 1 AND 2 and then release them all together?

I have to say that in this whole exam process, the release of scores has not been communicated clearly, and I was surprised that no information was provided upon exam completion as to approximately when/how scores are released from Wisconsin. I don’t even know if I will receive anything in the mail or not. I know I can log into NASBA and check for my scores, but when? It seems ridiculous that we put so much effort and time into studying (not to mention cash!), and we are left to wonder and wait about scores. I’m trying to decide whether to go ahead and schedule the next exams when I have not yet learned about passing these, because if I didn’t pass, I want to retake those as soon as possible. It’s hard to plan ahead without knowing. And, we’re all in this 18-month pressure cooker to pass all sections.

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but with the available computerized technology, I would sure like to see an improved grading and score release system.

So I've been reading a little about the OH “loophole” and people logging into the IN score page to check their scores…Does anyone know whether any of this works for us WI folks?

075STI – On another thread, someone else from Wisconsin said the Ohio loophole works for Wisconsin. Have you tried it?

WisconsinCPA2B – Wow, you're lucky to be in Wave 1 with the 8/12 date. And I too was told by NASBA the scores would be up within a day, but that's probably not true since Wisconsin is unique in holding scores and releasing them late. You'd think the NASBA people would know about that. It is very frustrating.

What is the deal with Wisconsin???? I spoke to Nasba yesterday (twice). Both times they said, my score would be released within 24 hours. I called NASBA this morning and they said, yes, they have my score and it would be released at the end of September when Wisconsin releases their scores. Really? Wisconsin isn't releasing ANY scores until the end of September? I find this hard to believe. Has anyone from WI gotten scores yet? I tried the loophole and I cannot schedule for FAR or AUD (I passed Aud in April). I'm crossing my fingers that means I passed.

Has anyone emailed geneva mosley to ask her what the deal is? I feel like she's the one in control, but she takes forever to respond

    BEC - 08/12/10 - 85
    FAR - 10/01/10 - 84
    AUD - 10/30/10 - 81
    REG - 11/30/10 - 85

Geneva Mosley will just tell you that scores will be released as soon as scores for all the Wave 1 exams have been received for WI. So, they'll probably be up Sunday or Monday night. That's how it's historically worked.

Regarding the Ohio “loophole.” I'm waiting on AUD right now. I took it on Aug 6 (I think). I went through the Ohio stuff and it was allowing me to click on AUD to re-register. So, if the loophole works for WI, I must not have passed, correct?

I had to retake AUD because I got a 74 on REG in January and lost credit for AUD in late February. I really didn't think I'd have an issue passing AUD since I got an 89 on it the first time I took it. If the loophole works, then I must not have passed it though???

07STI – You didn't necessarily fail AUD. Here's why – The Ohio loophole only works if NASBA has received your score. You should call NASBA and verify whether or not your score has been received. If they have received your AUD score AND you can re-register, then it's more likely that you failed. But, even then I'm not sure, as I haven't heard a lot of feedback from Wisconsin people about the loophole working for our state. I did hear that the loophole allowed people to re-register who ultimately passsed in other states, though. I took FAR on 7/10, called NASBA to verify that my score was received, and it was a few days ago, and I am not able to re-register through the OH loophole. I hope that's a good sign.

I'm really hoping that I'm either in Wave 2, or that it just doesn't work 100% of the time for WI. Our state is so goofy with this whole process that I'd be surpised if it actually works 100% of the time anyway.

I took FAR in early October last year and ended up in Wave 2. I think I took the exam on October 6 and ended up getting my score in January. That was soooooo frustrating.

07STI – Wow – your wait last year for FAR was REALLY long! Actually, that just seems like an unacceptably long wait, especially when the possibility of retaking/restudying for it exists and there is an 18-month deadline to get all of these done.

Have you called NASBA to verify whether they have yet received your score this time?

Who knows if the loophole works for us, or if it works 100% of the time.

The fact that NASBA has been giving inconsistent responses as to when Wisconsin scores will be released is disappointing too.

I didn't call NASBA. I'm just going to wait until the scores are released. I don't want to get excited or be disappointed when I have no idea whether this loophole actually works for us WI people.

NASBA doesn't actually know how WI works, so you really can't base anything off of their responses. I've talked to Geneva multiple times, and I know that WI doesn't release any scores until all scores for Wave 1 have been received (or Wave 2, if it's during Wave 2 releases).

I've passed all 4 parts of the exam, but not within the window. I'm really hoping I'm done with AUD. I just took REG, so I won't get that score until the end of September or early October. It really sucks being in WI…I don't typically come on here since it's discouraging to hear about everyone else getting their scores while we wait.

I emailed Geneva this morning and have not heard anything back. From looking at past posts, it looks like WI results were posted Thurs, Aug 27th last year. I'm driving myself nuts over this since I still have BEC and REG to take before year end and I don't want to have to retake FAR too before year end.

You could email Geneva 3 times over the course of a week…She might respond to one of them the same day. If she doesn't respond the same day, you won't get a response at all.

07STI – Good thoughts. It must be a huge bummer to have passed all 4 parts outside of the window. Don't give up (I'm sure you won't).

WisconsinCPA2be – If you receive a reply from Geneva, will you please share it with us here? Since Wisconsin handles things differently than the other states, how are we supposed to know when to expect our scores? Are we really supposed to just keep checking and checking constantly, for weeks?

If anyone knows the reason why Wisconsin holds scores, I would love to know.
