I am wondering if anyone is having the same problem with me. I found out I failed AUD wirh 73 in June. I want to retake AUD again in early or mid July, so immediately I sent in a re-application on 6/19. I have been waiting for notice to select the exam since then. It’s been almost 3 weeks and the status of the application still showed “Remittance payment received by Board.” I don’t know why it is taking this long. From my past experience, it normally took about 2-3 weeks from the day I sent in the application, cleared remittance payment, got approval to select the exam, paid for the exam and then received NTS. Now my application is not even half way through. I am ready for the exam, but I don’t have NTS yet. I am really worried that I wouldn’t be able to take the exam in July…

In my state you can only sit for each part once every 3 months.

If OP found out in June that means OP sat in the April/May testing window.

Per some other posts it sounds like the CBA is really backed up and slow.

I sent my last transcript in on June 7, received on June 14.

I call them every day and today I was lucky to speak to a nicer employee.

She told me that deficiency (like in my case) and reapplications (like in yours) don't have yield anymore. Everything is basically processed in the order it is received. She told me they now take 35 days.

I'm stuck at Step 4 too in their website. Let me know if you get approval.

I'm ready to take FAR too, but I can't.

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

    italianCPA,

35 days?! That means I might not be able to take the exam in this testing window. This is not fair…

I sent a complaint to the the CA consumer affair. I don't think it would do any good but doesn't hurt to file a complaint. I said how I experienced a significant change of the processing efficiency in the Exam Unit. How it used to take about 2 weeks as instructed to get an approval for application. How I used to get prompt help by calling, but now the phone just keep ringing and ringing and take me to a voice mail. Also said that this is an national wide exam, and I deserve a fair examination opportunity as candidates in other state. blah blah blah…

I work for the state of CA. Complaints won't do any good. It is the government…they have no competition. You can't leave them and go to someone else.

I'd love to know where all the tax dollars in California go……..

I mean, we have the highest state income taxes and the highest sales taxes in the country. On the contrary, in Los Angeles there are the worst public schools in the country and Sacramento is as efficient as my grandma with Parkinson's would be in running a marathon…

On top of that, there has been no sunshine at all in the last ten days in Los Angeles, which is unheard of….

sure you can. you can apply for an exam by submitting an application to a board of accountancy at some other state. now, most of the states have already adopted the cpa mobility act, that would allow you to practice outside of your state border. all know that ca board of accountancy has not. but sooner or later it will also have to ratify it. those you are in the beginning of the examination process in ca, will probably be able to take advantage of the act once they pass the exam.
