This is a condensed version of a question I asked earlier, but haven’t received any responses – I think it may have been too long. Here are the essentials.
Present day, I’m working for a large British company doing internal auditing. No one in my department has their CPA. A few managers in my department have their English equivalent (chartered accountant), but no one in my office in GA.
Based on the GA state board rules for licensure (https://rules.sos.state.ga.us/docs/20/3/08.pdf), I don’t think I’ll ever qualify for my CPA license if I stay with this company. Here are my questions:
1. Is there any way I could still get my license?
2. If I pass all of the exams and I don’t qualify to get my license, is there any benefit of having took them? OR
3. Am I wasting my time taking these exams?
I’ve already invested quite a bit of time with FAR and REG, so I’m looking for any reason to just finish it out. Any suggestions/tips/answers will be GREATLY appreciated.
