Hey guys,
I live in Texas and I’m a Junior in my Accounting major right now in a university that’s about 30-45 minutes away, and I can’t drive yet, but can’t live there because of the fact that I’m still a minor (under 18 years old) and my parents won’t let me, but I agree I’m too young. It’s getting to be a hassle schedule wise for my family with my parents driving me back and forth, so I’m exploring some online options. The only problem I have is the 15 credits you have to take face-to-face in a classroom out of the 30 credits of accounting courses required. It says on the TSBPA website that:
“Non-traditionally-delivered accounting courses may be considered to meet the accounting course requirements provided courses have been reviewed and approved through a formal, institutional faculty review process that evaluates the course and its learning outcomes and determines that the course does, in fact, have equivalent learning outcomes to an equivalent, traditionally delivered (face-to-face) course”.
Have any of you guys done your accounting courses through this option before? What online university was it? How did employers look at you with doing your degree online? It would be so much easier for me to take all my accounting courses online, and I don’t want to quit college until I turn 18. CPA’s certified in Texas would be the most helpful please.
Thanks a ton you guys!
