    Hi everyone,

I just have a question regarding the 150 requirement in NY. I have passed 3 parts of the exam with REG coming up next month. I have about 130 credits and just registered at my school starting a new degree (not masters) just to take any random classes to reach the 150 requirement.

My question is am I allowed to take classes that I have already taken during my first degree that are part of my 130 or will I have to take classes that I have never taken before even though is it a separate degree.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure about NY, but I'm in VA and you can't do that here. I have a question for you though – why would you have to repeat some classes that you have already taken just to get a separate degree?

I am not trying to get another degree. I've already graduated and have to register for another degree to be able to take additional credits to reach 150 and then will not be taking any more classes after that. I can take any random classes but I just wanted to know if I can take previous Accounting courses that I've taken before.

In NJ, the state board will review your transcripts for classes that are too similar.

    BEC- 86
    AUD- 96
    REG- 83

Not sure if it applies to you, but NY also has a provision that substitues 15 years public accounting experience

instead of the 150 hour requirement.

    Reg 11/15/2011 - 80
    Aud 02/28/2012 - 81
    Bec 05/31/2012 - 78
Far 08/31/2012 - 83 Do you believe in Miracles, YES !!!
