I feel like I am in a nightmare. I passed AUD, FAR, and BEC all on first attempt. I guess I got cocky and overconfident or maybe just lazy with REG. I really thought I did great though and I wasn’t even worrying about score release day. I failed by just 2 god dang points. I thought I was FINALLY done taking exams and studying.

Anyways, my 18 month period is coming close, but I have no idea of the exact month or day. Also, does anybody have any advice on retaking the exam? I am using Becker, so I know I want to re-do sims and questions at least twice. Thank God I already have detailed notes of all the chapters. Do I really have to go back and re-watch lectures and re-read the book?

You should have received a report from your state that told you the exact expiration date of your first pass.

In most states, it's 18 months later to the day of your test, but there are a few exceptions.

AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Are you in a NASBA state? If so, log into CPA Central. It should tell you when each of your exams expires. If not, your state board website (or wherever you check your scores) might have that info.

In my state, it's 18 months from the date I passed the first exam. Some states give until the end of the month, others until the end of the window. There was a nice debate about it on here a few weeks ago. 🙂

Called my state board and got the date. One more question for you guys. I have to wait until Jan 1 to retake REG, right?

Yep – December is a blackout month, and you can't retake in the same window. I think you have to wait 48 hours before re-applying, but you should be good to go for the first week of January if you so choose – and can get a Prometric seat.
