I had an odd experience with my exam a few weeks ago and was wondering if its normal.

My monitor at Prometric displayed the questions in an unusually large font (maybe like 36). It kind of rattled me a little bit at first since I was so used to looking at my normal Becker screen. The SIMs made it the hardest when the option pop-window came up and I had to continually scroll back and forth to see the rest of the options while I’m used to it being all right there.

Also, is it standard for them to give out 2 dry erase boards (with grids for whatever reason) and dry “erase” markers (mine didn’t have an erasers). For AUD, it obviously wasn’t a big deal, but now that I’m taking FAR in a few weeks it kind of worries me. Any chance they can supply you with a pencil and plain sheet of paper?

That would be so annoying! I bet it was previous test taker who tinkered with the font! Your actual test should look exactly like Becker's. All my sections were identical to Becker's in terms of format/layout, etc.

But something like that could be very easily fixed either by yourself or after asking Prometric's employee.

My last exam was taken on the most hideous monitor. I was frankly surprised to see that fossil but center was incredibly packed with MCATs being administered in the am and CPA/tech stuff in the afternoon and I figured it was pointless to complain or wait for the better sit. Two previous exams taken in the same center were on a decent equipment with no complaints.

I had no erasers whatsoever, just 2 laminated sheets and 2 markers.

Here is another thread related to laminated “paper”:

All of my exams have been huge font also. Definitely adds time having to scroll constantly in the sims. Very weird.

Unfortunately, the darn dry and no erase laminated boards are standard now. They changed it a few months ago and got rid of the paper and pencil. If you need more space they tell you to wave your board in the air and the proctor will give you a new one! But I've personally never needed any extra space.

    FAR: PASSED!! 64, 68, 79 on 2/27/13!
    AUD: PASSED!! 73, 93 on 4/5/13!!!
BEC: PASSED!! 75 (phew) on 5/24/13!
REG: PASSED!!! 77 on 8/7/13 I AM DONE!!!!!

    Experience: got it!
Ethics Exam: PASSED on first try (what a waste of money)
