Reschedule vs. Cancelation

    Hi everyone,

I had 2 quick question regarding rescheduling vs cancellation of an exam. I have an exam scheduled in 2 weeks but want to move it to a later date. However, I am still unsure on what day I want to move it to. Currently, there is a $35 fee for rescheduling/cancellation within 30 days of the test date.

    1) If I reschedule the exam for my last day of my NTS, will I then be able to move the exam for free? This is assuming I move the exam before I am within the 30 days.

    2) If I simply cancel my exam, will I then be able to schedule it again? Basically just like I did when I received my NTS.

    Thanks!

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but I rescheduled my exam with no problem within the same testing window. If you are within the 30 days, I think you pay the fee no matter when your NTS expires. I think if you cancel, you can reschedule within your NTS time without a problem. My suggestion – reschedule, don't cancel…

    RESCHEDULE / CANCEL POLICY

After you have made an appointment for an examination section you may find it necessary to change or cancel an appointment. Be aware that you may be required to pay a reschedule fee or forfeit your examination fees, depending on when you notify Prometric of the change or cancellation. Changes made 5 to 30 days prior to your appointment will be assessed a $35 fee. Changes made less than 5 days prior will be assessed $88.20. Note: Any changes made 24 hours or less prior to your appointment will forfeit your fees and you will need to reapply to your board of accountancy or its designated agency. Please see your Candidate Bulletin for more information.

If you fail any section of the CPA examination, you may retake the section in a future testing window. You may not repeat any section within the same two-month testing window. Your Board of Accountany or its designee will provide you with information on how to retake a failed examination section when they send you your score report. Please see your Candidate Bulletin for more information.

I'm not sure about cancellations, but you can reschedule to a later date and then reschedule again to an earlier date. As long as you reschedule > 30 days from the already scheduled date, you won't pay a fee.

Since your exam is scheduled in < 30 days, you'll pay a fee now to reschedule to your NTS date. As long as you reschedule > 30 days from your NTS date, you won't pay another fee.

    CPA exam: Done!

    Thank You, Lord.
