Registered in NY a while back ago but moved in Jan to Texas.
I can reactivate my NY registration and register for exams all online and it’s a very simple and easy process.
If I was to instead submit Letter of Intent to Texas, I need to re-request all transcripts(Canada for BA, NYC for MS and some remaining course) from 3 different schools and I might even need to take additional classes to meet the specific requirements in Texas.
Questions:
1) Should I re-register in NY as it’s easiest and just do the exams while registered with them, then transfer exam credits to Texas. Would there be any legal/ethical issues here? Is there a residency requirement?
2) If I do 1, and transfer 1 exam credit over, can I do the remaining 3 exams in Texas WITHOUT re-evaluating the educational requirements(ie. transcripts, additional classes)?
3) Should I start over in Texas, which will probably take 2-3 months just to get transcripts and processing of Letter of Intent , with high probability of me required to take additional courses such as “Account Research”.
Let me know what you guys think. I personally would prefer doing it while still under NY Registration as it’s already all done vs me tracking down 3 transcripts and possibility of taking additional courses, but I dont want to be breaking the law and jeopardize my application/license.
Any comments and suggestions is greatly appreciated.
