Prometric Unspoken Code of Conduct

As you guys can see, I’ve had several experiences with Prometric. It seems like everytime I’m there, there is someone with the worst testing etiquette possible. I’m easily distracted so it really takes everything for me not to scream at the culprit.

These people make me feel like I should get a 10 point addition for being quiet and respectful to others in the testing room.

So, in an effort to vent and because generally I’m not sure what to do with the rest of my day off, let’s compile a code of conduct.

    DO NOT BE THIS PERSON!

    1. The guy who pulls up right next to you in the big parking lot with plenty of empty spaces. He continues to bump his stereo even though he sees you are in your car, looking over notes.

    2. The foot shaker. Knock that s*** off. My Prometric is the 2nd floor so the whole floor shakes when someone walks by or moves their foot.

    3. And the worst guy I have ever sat by, who prompted this thread goes to…guy who CAN NOT SIT STILL. He kept adjusting his seat really loudly, almost every other question. It wasn’t like he was trying to find a comfortable position – he’d bring it all the way down, and back up…and continue….

and on the questions where he wouldn’t do that he would kick the floor!! I mean really?? Come on. This is the first time I contemplated going to Prometric to see if I could move.

And please take a bath before you go! Not farting is also appreciated!

    And can we add…

    4. The guy with WAY to much cologne on. You're giving me a major headache.

    5. The woman who works there and keeps passing by my seat so she can peer open the blinds and look out the window every 20 minutes. Seriousy? I'm sorry your job is boring you but I'm trying NOT to flunk an exam at the moment.

@HustlinHustlin… foot shaker guy is the worst! I had him next to me for the ENTIRE time during REG and he must have gone 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off. He completely distracted me on several occasions and I wanted to get out of my chair and give him a piledriver. A cough or sneeze or whatever here and there is understandable, but this guy wouldn't quit.

The obnoxiously loud typer. I mean I have never heard anything like this. If you are taking a “written” exam…learn how to type…quietly. Those construction man headphones were not comfortable…in fact they gave me a headache. Thanks πŸ™‚

    Or

The test center employee who thinks they are “the man”. I really do not appreciate my leg being grabbed during an exam (and as a p.s. your precious chair was not that nice) (he “yelled” at me for sitting on my foot by grabbing it and whispering in my ear to get my dirty feet off his chair)

Oh I am sooo glad to be done with prometric!

He touched you – I would have his job for that – depending on the situation, that is assault.

I have had people who coughed and blew their noses the entire time – RESCHEDULE if you are sick.

Yesterday, I had the person slamming on the keys – through their entire test.

@jeanie yes he grabbed my ankle. I wanted to scream and hit him but I did not want to be kicked out and lose the exam so I kept my mouth shut. It killed my zone took me a bit to get it back. I almost handed him my shoe…but again I used my better judgement! πŸ™‚

    6. Stop clearing your damn throat like every 15 seconds. Very obnoxious and I'm sure it is their habit.

Seems to be common in the library also. SMH~

    edit: posted in MintsRGood's thread

Rule 5: NO clearing your throat loudly and sharply every 90 seconds. And yes, I can still hear it with the jackhammer headphones on provided by my testing center. It makes me jump every time. F*cking stop it.

Additional info about Captain Throat Clearer: After making the ACK noise every 90 seconds at a high decibel for 20 minutes, a prometric employee came into the fishbowl and informed him that he was disturbing other test takers and if he didn't stop would have to forfeit his exam (no clue what he was taking). He proceded to yell at the top of his lungs “But I've only got 15 minutes left!!!!!” which resulted in everyone making the “shhhhhhhhh” sound and you could hear the squeak of the wheels from all the chairs moving at the same time. I kept my head down because I am terrified of moving/shifting/stretching once I enter the fishbowl, but for a moment I thought the entire room was going to attack him mob style!!! Captain Throat Clearer calmed down and silently finished his exam, but what a complete and total a$$hole!!!!!
