Just wondering if it is frowned upon to bring our own foam ear plugs, like the ones we can purchase at a local grocery store? I don’t like using Prometric’s earphones. Thanks for the help!

Not subject related but, at my last test as I was leaving somebody got busted for cheating in the bathroom. I am not sure if they were there for the CPA, Step 2, or Series 7, but the person got busted. I can't imagine how that would feel, all your study time, and hard work gone right down the crapper. Ugh.

I would have done without ear plugs if they hadn't allowed me to bring my own. This exam already gave me ulcers, I sure as hell wasn't going to get head lice!

You, too? I actually do better if there's a dull roar. I study with the TV on (but it has to be something I've seen before like Law & Order reruns, or it pulls me in) and I did some of my most effective studying for AUD at parties!

But total quiet and just one person whispering or clacking the keyboard drives me nuts, so the level of quiet at the testing center is a bit annoying. At least the noise cancelling headphones at my Prometric were pretty good 'cause they created kind of a white noise whooshing sound that helped me focus. But they were a little uncomfortable on my ears so I had to take breaks from them.
