So I got an email and a voicemail (might have been canned) at 8PM tonight saying my Tuesday appointment got cancelled. Not really sure why it got cancelled. The weather forecast is for sunny weather. When I do the “Confirm My Test” thing on the Prometric site, it says I’m still scheduled for Tuesday. In the email it says:

You will be contacted by the relevant department as soon as possible to assist you schedule a new appointment date, time and location. For candidates whose eligibility has ended or will end soon, kindly contact your test sponsors for further assistance.

So do I wait for them to call me? I don’t want to pay an extra fee by trying to reschedule now.

Interesting, were you taking it in Baton Rouge by any chance? They are cancelling everyone this week from what i understand.

call the prometric where you were scheduled to take the exam and see if they answer. prometric also has a closings page you can check.
if NY lets you schedule directly, you can also try to call the prometric 800# to see what they know and if they can help with a reschedule.

You are in NY? If you are in NYC there are many Promentric locations. Personally, I would not wait for them to call you, but book another spot somewhere close ASAP. The Prometric staff don’t fully understand the sense of urgency of writing a CPA exam.

So first I called up the actual center and the guy (who checked me in the last 2 times) said that they are doing loud construction in the building for the next week or two. And the construction goes until 3PM, so they are doing appointments until 9PM next week. He gave me the 800 number to change the appointment and said that probably no one is working the lines until Monday. I tried anyways. Took a while to finally get a human on the line. I got it changed to a different spot in NY. I don't really trust that the construction will really finish at 3PM, so I declined an evening appointment at the original center. Just means a bit longer train ride.

Hope my September 8th appointment doesn't get canceled too. The center guy sounded kind of iffy on when the construction will be done. Ugh. Actually when I took FAR back in June, when I was in the middle of the simulations there was some construction noise. Wasn't horrific but….
