My NTS expires in early April for FAR. Due to poor planning and the fact that I can’t take a day off during busy season, I won’t be able to take the exam in April. I want to take the exam in late May. Can I pay the fee and obtain another NTS before my current NTS expires or do I have to wait?

You will have to wait for the NTS to expire if you are planning to take an exam that is on your current NTS. You can have multiple NTS's as long as they have different exams on them.
