So is the NTS mailed to your house? Or is it sent to your email?

How long does it usually take to receive your NTS after you submit your application and official transcript?

I got mine within 3 days of submission of the application. There was an option between mail and an email when i filled out the application, i am a Delaware candidate….I don't know if the application process is different for diff states though!

Finally done!!! Experience-pending. Ethics- Pending.

Unless otherwise noted somewhere on the application, I believe the NTS is emailed to you. And according to the Virginia Board of Accountancy, it takes approximately 3 weeks from the time that they receive your application and official transcripts to issue the NTS. I too am going through the application process in Virginia and actually just asked the VBOA that question last week. I applied on 12/26/13 and my official transcripts should have been received by the VBOA around 01/06/14 and I still haven't heard anything back from them yet. Patience is a virtue here in Virginia, lol.

Some great advice. And don't be afraid to email/call your State Board too. They're pretty chill. If not for them, my application would have taken forever. When I applied my school sent the transcripts to the wrong location, so I didn't know. It's always good to follow up with the State Board.

I now have the two exam sections I applied for scheduled, so I thought I'd give you the exact timeline I had from start to finish. One of the VBOA staff members did tell me that you should receive your payment coupon from NASBA 2-3 weeks after they receive your final official transcript. Mystical Guy is definitely correct- the staff at the VBOA are very helpful and will answer most of your questions if you give them a call. Or do live chat, that's how I communicate with them most frequently. They even answered some of my educational eligibility questions prior to me submitting my pre-evaluation, which I thought was very generous of them.

My experience with the Virginia application process was as follows:

12/27/13 – Official application start date per the VBOA licensing website

01/21/14 – Received email from the VBOA stating I was eligible to sit for the exam in VA

01/23/14 – Received emailed payment coupon from NASBA (and paid on this date)

01/25/14 – Received emailed NTS from NASBA and scheduled exams through Prometric

The staff member I spoke with at the VBOA told me that they received my final official transcript on 01/10/14, so it actually took them less than 2 weeks to send my info off to NASBA.
