AnonymousInactiveSo I know this is probably a dumb question, but if my NTS doesn’t have my middle name and one of my ID’s does is that bad?

TncincyParticipantI have my full name on my NTS, but I do not sign with my middle initial. I have not had any problems. Now that this is a topic it is something to consider.
It begins with a 75

KimboroniMemberYeah, the safest thing is to make sure the NTS matches your ID exactly. They say to make sure it does, so I got out my driver's license and input exactly what it said when I filled out the exam application. You don't want to do all the prep work and get there just to not be allowed to test due to a silly thing like that.
I did read before my AUD test (I believe it was on the NASBA candidate guide) that if your NTS shows your full middle name and your ID only shows your middle initial, or vice versa, that it would be okay.

FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)Disclaimer: My ninja avatar is not meant to imply that I have any affiliation with this site other than being a forum member. That's a pic of a T-shirt that my daughter gave me for my birthday. 🙂

AnonymousInactiveMy name never matched my NTS exactly. When I started college I wasn't married and when I graduated, I was married. Someone in the Registrar's office decided to hyphenate my last name before graduation, so I had to apply for the CPA exam as Wagley-Mitchell because that is the name on my transcripts, even though my drivers license has my first, middle and married last name. Back in the day, when they actually asked to see the second form of ID, all I had was my debit card, and it just has first name and last name. I doubt you are screwed over a middle initial. If you are concerned about it, call your state board and ask if it is a problem. Louisiana didn't have a problem with it and neither did Prometric. One time my drivers license was actually expired and I had to go online and renew it the night before the exam. I printed a receipt and it said to keep it with my drivers license at all times until the new license arrived. The ladies at Prometric weren't sure if I could sit for the exam, but I pointed out that the receipt was good enough for a State Trooper so it should be good enough for them. I even offered to go find a State Trooper for them. They let me take the test.

AnonymousInactiveI had the same issue and I went to my prometric and showed them both and asked if it was going to be a problem. They said I would be fine and I haven't had any problems on the 3 tests I've taken.
