NTS & ID name

Just a little concern I have. If my ID (i.e. my drivers license) has my middle initial but my NTS does not, will this present a problem on exam day?

If so, how do I go about fixing this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

I am not sure of this answer. I just double checked mine and mine both have my middle initial. I would contact your state board and see if you can change your name… Do your other IDs have your middle initial too?

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

I'm guessing it shouldn't be a big deal, but it'll probably depend on the test center. The NTS instructions keep saying to bring 2 forms of ID to the test center. I've taken 4 exams and they never asked about a second ID.

Thanks for the replies. I called my Prometric Testing Center and they said I should be fine as long as my first and last name are the same.

It may depend on the test center. My NTS has my middle initial and I believe (not positive but not getting up to check right now) my drivers license has my whole middle name. I haven't had any problem before.

However when my NTS address didn't match my drivers license the CT board said I could get the NTS reissued if I needed to. I don't know how long that takes or if they charge you, but it might be worth a call to NASBA.

I love this question because I have dealt with it first hand. PLEASEE if you have time, make sure your name appears exactly the same as your driver's license. Last year when I went to take REG, my middle initial was on the NTS but not on my driver's license and the lady told me flat out NO so I forfeited hours of studying and also $ on top of that. Called NASBA and they showed no sympathy. When I read the NTS again, the requirements were in bold black letters. smh.

    BEC 10/13 PASSED 77
    AUD 04/12 PASSED 83
    FAR 08/12 PASSED 76
    REG 02/13 PASSED 76

I was wondering if your missing middle initial gave you a problem. I just realized I have no middle initial on my NTS but both forms of ID have my middle initial. Test on Monday and there sure isn't time to change it now!

I think its just ridiculous that Prometric/NASBA goes to this extent.

My address is different on my license (haven't needed to renew it since I've moved), and I've never encountered an issue with the address being different on my NTS.

I also have never been asked for a 2nd form of ID. I brought my passport last time just in case, but they were fine with just my license. I guess if your initial is on your passport or another form of ID, bring it too in case they make a fuss.

    F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
    B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINA

    DONE, DONE, AND DONE.

I haven't taken my exam yet – I take FAR on Monday though. I called my Prometric site and they said that the middle initial won't give me problems. Nevertheless, I still got a new NTS issued so it looks exactly like my license and second form of ID just in case.
