As the title suggests, I was just wondering how many questions I can get wrong on the first testlet to get a harder second testlet?

I’m asking because I recently took the audit exam, however I felt like there was no change in difficulty between ANY of the 3 testlets. I feel like I didn’t do bad, but I reviewed some of the material once I got out of the exam and I am certainly confident I got at least 5 questions wrong overall on the multiple choice part.

    Thanks,

    Pei

this was the same for my BEC exam… i did not feel like the questions varied in difficulty in any of the booklets–i was surprised by how little calculations i was asked to compute from the becker material i had expected atleast half the test to be calculations… but not even close…

I have no idea, but in my FAR exam I noticed the testlets never got any harder (at least I don't think they did… no more calculations in any of them). I'll hopefully find out my score on Friday. Maybe we all 3 pass with flying colors!

Same here. The questions were just doable. Maybe that's from doing all those M/C practice questions where the hard and medium questions were scrambled together.

That's hard to guess. I'm pretty sure it's the number of MCs you get wrong AND the assigned difficulty level of the ones you get wrong which determine your performance –and would hence move you forward to a “hard” testlet or another “medium” testlet. Perceiving the difficulty of the testlets is pretty subjective too. Also, some of the real head scratching MCs could very well be “pretest” anyway. 5 wrong MCs is nothing to worry about, I'll bet you did well.

PS Adamantium007 that must have been a rough 8 day stretch for you. Hope you swept them.

Well I had assumed I would get a 70 based on my FAR testlets not getting any harder and bombing the sims. And I did get a 70 exactly. Good luck to those of you still waiting.

thanks UFSCPA. I don't think the sims were hard this time around for Audit, so I hope I actually did well in that seciton.

I wish AICPA would give a little more detail on how they score the gosh darn exam.

Well actually that link doesn't answer the question either…sorry!

I think it comes down to the type of question since each question has different weights. It probably won't be a certain # of questions.
