On the application for the state of WV, there is a section that asks me to check the “part I wish to schedule for in the appropriate testing window” It says I can choose all four parts or one, two, or three parts. Why is this asked on the application? Should I select all four parts?

I am paying for all four parts essentially with my application. However, I do not want to schedule to take all four parts at once.

If I put down that I would like to take BEC in August window, does that mean that when I get my NTS, that I have to take BEC in August? Or can I change it to say October window without penalty?

Could someone help me understand why they ask me to choose which parts to take and when I want to take them on the initial application. I want to take two sections in one window at a time. If I don’t pass them, I’ll retake them before moving on. What should I put on my initial application?

If you select all 4 exams, you have 9 months to schedule and take them all. Any parts that weren't taken within that 9 months for that NTS will expire and no refund will be given. If you want to take BEC in August, but decide later on you want to reschedule it, make sure the reschedule date is within 9 months of NTS. Your NTS will give you a date of the expiration of exam time frame. If you reschedule within 30 days of your exam, you will incur a $38 fee (give or take, cant remember exact amount) to reschedule your exam. Reschedules over 30 days in advance is free.

Judging from what you want to do, I would recommend selecting 2 exams at a time and go from there. That's what I did. As a reminder, you can have 2 active NTS issued to you at a time. For example, if you take FAR and BEC in one wonder period and find out that you failed FAR, reapply again and select FAR and AUD or REG on your 2nd NTS since BEC is still on 1st NTS (assuming you didn't sit for it yet).

I hope that helps clear things up for you. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you very much CPAski! I am going to do what you recommend and just put down the two I want to take first on my initial application. I'll be losing the $ for the other two, but from what I've read on this forum, sitting for one or two at a time and retaking if you fail, is the way to go.

In IL, I applied to take all 4 parts but we only had 6 months before they expired. I would make sure how long you have before your NTS expires.

NIU CPA Review Correspondence is awesome!

I passed all four sections on the first attempt
