Help me out guys

Okay~ guys~ here is the thing.

I”ve spent lot of time for the past year primarily focuing on FARE and AUD.

I took the AUD about 2 weeks ago and MCQ were alright~ but I choked on 3 sim questions…which got me to think

    I need to re-take the AUD…sadly.

And yesterday, I’ve took the REG exam and woW…I could feel I wasn’t ready for it.

Anyways, the big issue here is that I have BEC coming up in a week and FARE in almost 3 weeks.

I was thinking of canceling my BEC and just fully focus on FARE for the rest of the week. But,

the catch is the $35 cancellation fee.

    Here is my question…

Do you guys think I should just take the BEC? (I mean it doesn’t hurt to just go there take it! right?)

or does previous scores hurt you in the future like the MCAT? I mean, If my scores come out low on BEC, will

this haunt me even after I pass the test in the future?

Give me some tip guys~ thanx~

Paying the $35 fee to change your test date is better than paying ~$200 to retake a test (assuming your window is open until Q1 of 2014). I would reschedule BEC and focus on FAR.

Also, lots of people think they failed and end up passing. Hopefully, you passed your first two sections and will only have BEC in 2014.

I would agree with auslaf in that it is cheaper to reschedule than pay to retake an exam, so if you can I would try to reschedule either BEC or FAR (whichever one you feel less prepared for) until the next window. As far as low scores they don't matter in the least, once you pass all 4 sections you are a CPA no matter how many times you took the exam or what your lowest scores were.

It seems like your schedule is pretty agressive, I am assuming you are studying full time. I mean different strategies work for different people, but if you felt underprepared for the sections you just took you might give yourself a little more time between sections in the future and see if that helps as well.

    AUD - 2/2013 - Passed!
    BEC - 5/2013 - Passed!
    FAR - 8/2013 - Passed!
    REG - 11/2013 - Passed!

Scheduling your tests anything less than a month apart is going to make it tough to pass 1 part, much less all four. I am not saying that it is not possible. But, by doing this you are not giving yourself enough time to understand the concepts that are being tested. In my experiance with the CPA exam, you are more likely to pass a section as long as you understand what is going on. Being slighlty older than the average test taker, my memorization is limited. So, I have been able to pass based on the fact that I can tie logic to specifically tested areas. My advice is to take FAR now and study for the rest of November and December and take BEC the first week of January. Now, my answer will change based on your testing deadline. Good luck!

    F - 79 5/31/13
    R - 68 07/12/13 Retake 88! 10/18/13
    B - 78 08/31/13
    A - 64 01/03/14 Retake 75! 5/23/14 I would rather have a 75 than a 99 any day!

It looks like you have two weeks between BEC and FAR – that would not be enough time…

I would agree with the others and postpone BEC.

But if you already put some time into BEC why not postpone it to Dec 6, and put FAR off until mid Jan. Although looking back at your post, you have probably just started studying for BEC today…

Without being to silly about this, I would be putting in at least a month for each exam, and double that if you have no work experience. Especially when it come to REG with all that tax.

    Reg 82; FAR 75; AUD 91; BEC 11/9/13; result due - 11/22/13

Geez, don't you think you should maybe space those exams out a bit longer. I mean, I can probably speak for everyone on this board when I say “focusing on one exam at a time is the best approach”. I passed 3 exams over the course of 4 months, but gave myself at least 6 weeks of study time between each one. I assume you aren't working currently…

If you're taking it in a week, does that mean you already started studying for BEC? With your test dates so close it makes me think you've been studying for multiple parts at the same time. If haven't touched BEC, I would just postpone it. Don't worry about the $35 cancellation fee. I've already done it twice in the past two weeks to push it back. The extra time and sense of relief is well worth the money.

    FAR - 70, 83
    REG - 82
    BEC - 78
    AUD - 76
