NotAgainMemberJust curious. Last I heard the proctors were still handing out wet tissues to clean the measly 2 laminated sheets that we get to write on during the exam….which sooooooo isn’t going to work for FAR (for me, that is.)
And yes, I won’t be surprised if that’s been banned as well.

NotAgainMemberNice to know that I'm not the only person annoyed by the markers & 2 laminated sheets.
I have a tendency to write all over the place on my notes, so I'll have to work on making things smaller and more concise for the exam.
Argh. I'm just annoyed that we practically get treated like criminals when at the testing centers (Security wand, finger printed, turning pockets out, pushing sleeves up, pulling pant legs up, gum, but only if you don't bring the wrapper in, and dear god…NO WATER). The laminated sheets are just the latest thing to add to the pile of annoyance. Just venting peeps. ; )

AnonymousInactiveI've never used the spreadsheet feature for any of the exams, but if you use it and move on to the next question or sim does the previous info stay there or do you get a new clean spreadsheet every time?

AnonymousInactive@DJN I'm pretty sure the spreadsheet doesn't save the information, but can't remember for certain. 😐 I'll try to use it Saturday and then let you know. 🙂 (If I remember…)
I would suggest as the others have said finding ways to utilize the calculator's tape feature more and the laminated sheets/markers less. I'd hate to be stuck waiting on someone to bring me more sheets. -.- But have had good success with the calculator and tape. I'm assuming you guys are using the calculator to do the actual math anyway (I'm petrified of making some stupid arithmetic error on exam-day, so use the calculator for pretty much everything…), so using the tape to record it while you're working on it saves some time and space. Usually the main thing that I use my laminated sheet for is tracking my progress on the testlets – noting how much time I took to go through each one, how much time to review, how many I flagged, and my assessment of medium/hard. Too bad I can't let some of you use my extra sheets!

10keyLeahMemberAlso, you may want to consider talking to the Prometric attendants before your exam and letting them know you are nervous about getting new sheets quickly if you should need them.
I know it's not the same people at every site, but the people at the site I go to have always been accommodating and nice about things like that. They may agree to watch you more closely for sheets or make a few extra trips around to check up.

KeelyMemberI really preferred pencil and paper. I only had the noteboards for FAR, and the writing smudged right off. I didn't use it for much, but when I did, it was annoying. I know some people sit for the first 10 minutes and write down everything they can remember, but I really wouldn't get too bogged down in writing down a bunch of things. The computations themselves are usually relatively straight forward and the calculator was good enough for me. I did write a lot for the REG SIMs, if I remember correctly. Those were so brutal.

evesocalMemberI *hate* those laminated sheets. Pencil and paper were much better. I don't see the point of them either.

Tripp11MemberWith the dry eraser white boards, I would wear long sleeves when testing. I would then spit on my shirt sleeve, wipe off not needed calculations, wipe dry with my other sleeve, and then continue testing.
No one ever said a single word to me, and I did it very quietly and quickly.
