i just finished taking FAR an hour ago. I will adhere strictly to the non disclosure rules but will comment in general. Sim’s kicked my butt. How can I practice more of those to get a better feel for different directions and improve my response time? I will be retaking FAR that I sure of but simce this is my first exam I have questions about the scores. Will I get a breakdown on MC vs Sims? Where can I get topoc specific help to address knowledge deficiencies? I stumbled on very few MC but it kept bringing back topics I was guessing on – is that how adaptive works? Will I see a topic breakdown when score arrives? I jotted weak points down but a breakdown with score will help. Lastly, will the next time I take FAR be adaptive based on this attempt? The time did not fly by, the pace was quick but sims got me at the end. I will be back!!!

Hi, do you recall what your trending was on ninja prior to taking? did you study sims?

Wow! It has been 5 years almost to the day….I only studied for FAR for about a week in January and I took it in July because my NTS was going to expire. I figured all I would get is the experience of taking the exam. I passed because I did really well in school and had finished in December and knew a lot of govt and non-profit. No one was more surprised they passed than I was.
I studied very hard for my other exams and always did all sims at least once and my trending was in the high 80s. As you can see my results varied. I used only ninja book and mcq. When ninja audio was free I used that too.
How are your scores? It is important to read the question and all the info provided with the answer. Reading through why the correct answer is right and the others are wrong is so important to understanding the material and the exam. I felt studying the sims was important to get a feel for what they were really asking for – including the directions for each one.
