Expiring NTS – Take or don't take?

Foolishly I signed up for all four sections, didn’t take any parts yet and now my NTS is expiring (Nov 1).

I have been studying Audit and feel like I might be ready for it in two weeks but there is no way I

can be ready for the other three.

Do you think I should take the other tests anyway as practice and see what’s on it? I haven’t

heard of firms asking for scores so even if I fail by a lot, does it matter?

Yes, but not at the expense of AUD. If you think you have a shot at AUD, use up every last hour of studying for AUD. Take the exam October 31 and just blow off the remaining ones. If you have no shot at AUD, then just take all of them for practice.

Thank you for the advice. I will try to pass Audit and schedule it for Halloween morning. And depending on the prometric availability, schedule the other tests right after, so I can see what's on them and not totally waste my money.

    I agree, focus on AUD.

    I do have a question.

What is the reason you haven't taken any sections in this six month period?

Is it a lack of time available to study?

I know it can be very difficult to study when working or if something comes up in life. If it is a worry about being able to pass I think you just need to take the exam. From my own experience, I made the exam out to be way more difficult in my mind than it actually was.

First I tried to study FAR but that went very poorly for me.

I would study a lot, become overwhelmed and anxious, and give up.

Later I would get back into it and discover I couldn't remember parts I had already studied, so

basically starting all over again. Every time I studied I felt miserable. I don't think I've ever hated anything more!

Finally I decided to move onto another section. That has helped a lot in regaining my motivation.

I would also agree with others. Focus on AUD, don't waste your time and money on the other sections for now. Taking the exam “cold turkey” would not be of any benefit for you as you're probably not going to be familiar with most of the material anyway.

Guess what? Will not be able to take the other three anyway, even if I had wanted to, because almost everything is already booked in October! I was lucky to even get a spot on 10/26 for AUD.

Good luck with AUD. Just be confident. Study hard and believe in yourself. You can pass this exam. I believe you will feel much better about the exam once you take a section.

Keep checking available dates. I guarantee you that people will push their exams into November.
