When you’re taking the exam, is it normal for the staff from the Prometric center to come in the room every half hour? I took my exam last week and a lady from the center would come in the exam room to let people in to start their exam, but she would also come in every half hour to look around. Sometimes she would just stand in the room for several minutes. It was really distracting. Is that normal for them to do even though we’re bring video recorded?

Yes, it's completely normal and highly annoying…especially when the prometric employee is wearing perfume that is so strong it makes your eyes water EVERY TIME she walks by your station and your eyeliner, shadow, and mascara runs into your eyes further compounding your problems. I about fell over when I was checking out and she asked if I was OK and said something like “don't cry, I'm sure it went better that you think!”. I politely thanked her for the inquiry and gently told her that my exam was fine but that I was having allergy attacks due to breathing in her strong perfume for 3 solid hours!!!! YUCK. I hate prometric.

The worst was this past exam, the guy behind me was sliding his hands down the key board and making horrible noises 30 mins before my exam was over. Then the prometrics person had the nerve to ask me to uncross my legs and keep my feet on the ground.

I had a farter on one of my audit retakes and another section I was seated near a guy who kept clearing his throat loudly and sharply every 5 minutes (think ACK…..ACK……ACK). It startled me every time and I could hear him through the jackhammer headphones they provide! Someone thankfully came out and told him to stop or he would have to forfeit his exam and the dude blurted out “but I only have 15 minutes left” at the top of his lungs! I laugh now but it was no joke on test day! People are such a-holes.

I use the noise cancelling head phones provided and that really helps me tune out everyone else in the room.

Really? I use my office chair like a jungle gym, I am all over that. Crossed legs, stretching, one arm over head on shoulder, leaning back, ass off chair cushion (for the faaar back lean when you need to rethink something).

I was never harassed to this degree, though the patrols do come around quite often.

@zieba – yeah, it was a little ridiculous. I'm just happy that it was the last part of the exam and only a little time left. It took a lot for me to not turn around and yell at the guy. I was tempted to say something to the moderators when I left but just wanted to get the heck out of there.
