So I just got an email from Prometric saying that there are technical issues at the site I am taking my BEC exam at on Tuesday so I have to reschedule. The email said that I have to contact the Regional Contact Center but I cannot find that information anywhere online. Of course it is a holiday weekend and all the customer service lines are closed. Has anyone had this happen to them? I want to reschedule it as soon as possible because there is already very little availability with the testing window closing on Thursday. Thanks

I'm so sorry to hear this! The uncertainty has to be very unsettling. I would continue to prepare as though you are taking the exam on Tuesday based on what I read on this blog recently…

If your exam is truly rescheduled, I would be extremely firm when talking to them about your options. If you are ready to take it in May, do not take no for an answer. Do not let them say that all appts are booked and that you need to reschedule for July. This is their error and they should do their best to make it right.

Wow. Thanks for the heads up on that story. I still plan on preparing as though I am taking it Tuesday but figured I would have to call Tuesday at 8am to try and find the next best possible time. Since my exam is at 830 on Tuesday, that story has me a bit nervous now lol.

Based on the follow up email in the post, it sounds like they would have let the candidate reschedule if he had missed it based on that email, so you should be fine either way. Just a matter of getting a hold of them in order to reschedule.

Haha no worries. Yea, it looks like they tried to accomodate the person as best they could. Thats the only trouble I am having right now with it being a Sunday and a holiday weekend. It says to contact the Regional Contact Center but that is closed and I tried the testing center which just forwards me to the main call center. Even the online chat help on prometric.com seems to be down since I never got a response. Guess I just have to prepare for Tuesday at 830 and just show up and see what happens.

Was not able to contact anyone from prometric at all during the weekend but I checked yesterday and some sports opened up on thursday at the closest testing center so I paid the reschedule fee to change. However, it was within 24 hours of my exam but it let me reschedule and I was only charged $57 instead of $66 or so. I am mailing out the expense refund request tomorrow but am somewhat not to optimistic that I will receive a check anytime soon.

I know I got two more days to study from this but I am working on a 4/30 year end client so I am essentially in another busy season and was gone all week last week at training for work so I kind of just wanted to get this exam behind me because I dont think these two days are going to push me over the top. But it is worth a shot so that is why I am currently sitting at a cubicle at the town library!

Anyone experienced this happening on the last day of the testing window? (e.g. 5/31)

If there are no spots left on that date and your NTS expires the next day (e.g. 6/1), are you screwed?

Moose8- I'm glad you were able to reschedule! Good luck tomorrow! I am not sure if you mean you turned this in as an expense for work or if you are contesting the fee through Prometric. I hope it is the latter. No way you should have to pay to reschedule due to their technical difficulties!

Sorry, yea I found a spot on prometric to submit or contest “unduly incurred expenses” which I have to believe is the case here. I also wondered if my NTS expired (which it doesnt) and Prometric didnt have any spots left. Also, certain companies give bonuses to employees who pass the exam within certain dates like the first year and a smaller one by the second year. What if they caused you to miss out on a bonus?
