So i just realized that i will have to pay the stupid application fee every time i apply for a section. I applied got my NTS for Reg. I paid $145 app fee and $172 for the actual Reg test.

Well now i just noticed that i can apply for all exams and my app fee will be $95 + 192+192+172 or i can keep applying section by section and its going to be 65 app fee every time i apply.

Honestly i was confused about the application fee, i didn't read the instructions and just went off what other people said on message boards. lol only actually today i realized that you could avoid the application fee if you signed up for multiple at once

my app fee is only $60 so i dont really care right now

I applied for 2 on my first NTS, failed one of those. Applied for that retake on a single NTS because I was still unsure of my ability to pass the CPA. Applied for the last two on one NTS. I've taken the first one and passed, but because I pushed back my date to sit for that exam I feel really rushed to get everything in for the second test on that NTS. It really depends on your circumstances outside of the exam as to whether you should do it or not. I work full time and have 3 kids so trying to take all of them in 6 months was never going to happen. It may be worth saving $40-$70, but you have to be realistic about your ability to actually pass the exams you sign up for.

I did and it was a mistake. In the end I lost more than I thought I'd save because now I have to reapply. I wish I found this site before my exams. I would have done the ‘stick with one till you pass' method.

    Passed all sections.

I wouldn't do it personally…. Luckily here in virginia we don't have to repay the application fee when applying for each section so I apply one at a time that way I know I've got time and can get them taken care of. Paying for all at once puts a time crunch on you that may not be worth the stress of saving a little bit of money while trying to pass all 4 in 2 testing windows. Good luck!

Well there's no way I could have passed all 4 in the 6 month period that my NTS was valid for. I'd recommend registering for 2 at a time, especially since you really don't know going into it what studying for each will be like. The only way I would consider getting all 4 is if my only responsiblilites were breathing and studying for the exam.

I didn't. When I started initially and failed I registered for 3 at a time. I realized that I needed to take the exam when I felt ready, instead of when I had to or would lose the NTS – so I started registering for 1 or 2 at most.

    A - 10/28/12 - Passed!!!
    B - 11/20/12 - Passed!!!
    F - 11/12/13 - Passed!!!
    R - 02/01/13 - Passed!!!

    Work Experience - Done!
    Ethics Exam - Boom! Done!

    RI Licensed CPA.
