I will be sitting (hopefully) for my first exam section at the end of May, but I have a question as to whether that is possible. Long story short, the Texas board will receive my last 15 hours of transcript on May 19th which will complete my “Application of Intent” (they have already checked everything else out). I was told this wouldn’t take long at all to take care of. Subsequently, I am supposed to submit an Eligibility Application with the board, which is supposedly approved within 2-3 days. After that, I am assuming I am able to get my NTS.

My question is…will it be possible for me to sit for the exam in the April/May window if I won’t be able to apply for my NTS until probably May 23rd? If I am wrong on the length of time of any of these steps, I would appreciate it if someone could let me know how it really goes. Thank you guys for any help.

I think if your state approves your application quickly and you get your NTS back in a day or two you could still sit. The problem that you may have is getting an available sit because it is so close to the end of the testing window. With June being a black out month, sits are going to fill up fast for the last week of May. Good luck!

It may be possible, but it also may not be possible. I know Texas is not a NASBA state, so my experience does not quite jive with yours, but when I apply for an NTS, I normally get it within 48 hours of applying for it. Then it says on there that you can sit for an exam that same day, but Prometric will not let you schedule an exam in the next 5 days. You have to schedule out further than 5 days for your exam.
