Hi, everyone, I received my Congratulatory letter yesterday. I have some questions regarding my license requirements. Have anyone know? I completed my undergrad in 2002 and I tried to take exam but totally failed. During 2002-2011, I obtained my Master degree (Accounting) in the mid 2011, and began take CPA around 2012 then passed all 4 sections with last 18 months. I remember my initial exam application I only submitted my undergrad education result. Until now, I still didn’t submit my Master degree credits. In addition, my previous jobs all are not accounting-related and not supervision of CPA. Would you guys advise me my license progress? Do I need to updated my education in NASBA or NYSED now? In my situation, all 4 sections passed, those credit will be expired or not in a time-frame? or do I need to take any CPE within a several years to keep my score credits. (New York State)

I'm in New York, which allows you to start taking the exam after 120 credits, but you HAVE to have 150 credits in order to be licensed. So yes, you will have to submit your graduate school credits (to whatever address is listed on the NASBA website I believe). If I were you I'd just submit my undergrad and graduate school transcripts together so they have the complete record. I'd also call a week or two later just to ensure they've received everything and your credits are all squared away.

Secondly, since none of your jobs have been accounting related you will need to wait till you have a year of appropriate work experience until you can obtain your actual license. Qualifying job experience can be found on the NYSED website I believe.

Thirdly, I'm simply not sure if the scores will ever expire or not. I tried researching and could not find the answer. I THINK some states they will expire after 5 years once you've passed the entire exam, but someone will have to correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks co10101, I received my Congratulatory letter by post mail. Would you and anyone can advise me, do I need to attach my Congratulatory letter, my all 4 sections score around 75-80s. I scanned as picture file and insert to Word file to avoid the VOID watermark if using copier. Is it a good idea to attach my letter with my resume, thank you for all advise.
