I was just wondering if you can wear an engagement ring during the exam or if you will be asked to remove it.

San Jose Prometric doesn't ask for you to take off your engagement or wedding band.

Personally I don't wear mine for comfort reasons and most of the time I am so nervous for the exam I tend to forget to wear them 🙂

I've always left mine at home because I didn't want to have issues. I also wear clothes with no pockets, no socks (Florida) and flip flops. I just don't have the patience to deal with the Prometric employees over trivial matters when I'm already nervous enough about testing.

When I was taking REG exam for the first trial, I wore my wedding ring. It is slightly loose on my finger, so i habitually take it on and off while focusing on something like study or exam.

I took it off. it slipped out of my hand, and felt on floor. I couldn't find it, so the proctor helped me find the ring LOL.

I failed that exam.. maybe because I dropped my ring 😛

I wore my hoodie and just had to swip my hands through the pocket but I did't have to take off. I also had my wedding band on and another ring on my other hand and they didn't ask for me to take off. I have my necklace on too but that was hidden underneath my hoodie because it would look goofy otherwise

Going to the actual NTS, under “Prohibited Items” I saw that they specifically prohibit “pendant necklace or large earrings.” They also prohibit watches. Seems to be they make no mention of rings so I would assume they're alright to wear. Off topic, I have no idea why but one of the proctors kept coming into the room and starring at me for a really long time. She'd look at me for like 3 minutes, every 8 minutes, no kidding. I was so uncomfortable Lol. After my exam she asked me if “I thought I passed” and told me I'm lucky I'm going home, she's stuck there till 8, or something. Anyways, random. It was a bit creepy.

    CISA - Smashed 2012
    CIA - Passed 2015

My Prometric is awesome (lol wat) and they have only told me that if I took something off (scarf, cardigan, etc) that I have to bring it to my locker. I've definitely worn rings and necklaces and it was fine. I did have to take out a pack of gum I had in my pocket. Makes sense, but I feel so parched and dirt mouth after 3-4 hours of no liquid and chewing disgusting, soggy gum! I'm usually chugging water all day long.

    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83
