    I keep getting conflicted answers.

NASBA received my score on 2013-08-03 and it says that it expires on 2015-03-31

When I called NASBA they said i have to sit for the exam before 2015-03-03 actually.

When I called the New York State board they told me its from the day i sat for the exam…I dont even remember when I sat for the exam.

    Wtf?

Not too long ago, I found this:

70.4(c)(1) “Credit for any section passed shall not be valid for more than 18 months, calculated from the last day of the examination window in which the candidate sat for such section of the examination. A candidate must pass all four sections of the examination within a rolling 18-month period, which begins on the last day of the examination window in which the candidate sat for any section of the examination that the candidate passed.”

    from https://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/cpa/part70.htm#exam

So according to how state law is written, 2015-03-31 from your report should be correct. That gives you until the end of that window.

It could be that the person you talked to didn't know what they were talking about? Can you try someone else?

This is directly from NYSSCPA (see the link below). In a vote at its February meeting, the New York State Board of Regents approved a regulatory amendment to section 70.3 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education that included a provision to extend the credit for any successfully passed section of the Uniform CPA Examination β€œto be valid for a full eighteen months immediately following the end of the examination window in which a candidate sat for such section,” according to State Board Executive Secretary Daniel J. Dustin.

The change alters the window to be six testing periods after a candidate passes the first section of the exam, rather than beginning an 18-month term on the date on which the candidate passed the first section.

So, for example, if I took the exam on 1/2/14, and my state had the 18 month sitting rule, then I would have to pass all sections by 7/2/15?

I think it expires at the end of the testing window, honestly. Either way, when are you planning on taking REG? If you start studying now, you should be ready to take the exam at least by late December, early January. So based on that timeline, you'll be able and ready to sit by Mid January.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

At least for NJ, it's 18 months + until the end of that month. I took FAR on 4/21/14, and it expires at the end of the month 18 months after that. So 10/21/15, but they give me until 10/31/15 because it's the end of the month.

    @NYCaccountant,

I have one shot at REG. So ill take it by the end of February.

No point in taking it earlier if I can have extra month to do MCQs and reread the material.

    FAR - 76*, 73, 85
    BEC - 69, 72, 78*, 80
