I was told that you need 150 units to sit for the exam and fulfill the other requirements later. Is that correct?

I have an offer at a firm where they said it is contingent on having 150 units approved by the State Board of Accountancy and then I can take the exam. But I’m currently taking courses where I will have 150 units, but not ALL the classes that would get me my license. What should I do?
